Ravva kesari / Sheera

India is a land of sweets.  We dont need any occassion to eat sweets. Every good news is celebrated with sweets . One of the famous and most commonly made indian sweet is Sheera or ravvakesari.  This can be made with simple ingredients available in every home.

Ingredients :

Bombay ravva – 100 gms

Sugar – 100-150 gms

Cardamom powder –  1/2 tsp

Ghee – 4 tbsp

Dry fruits – 1/4 cup

Kesar color – pinch

Heat  1 tbsp of ghee in a pan and roast  ravva till light golden color or it  loses raw smell.  Take out this ravva and keep aside.  Now boil 4 cups of water and add ravva slowly . Mix it while adding to avoid  formation of any lumps. Let it cook on slow fire  and add sugar. Cook  for two minutes more and add  remaining ghee and cardamom powder  and mix well.  Now the sheera is thick and ready.  Add dry fruits fried in ghee to the sheera and serve.

This can be made in just fifteen minutes . Sheera is offered to god as prasad too ..
