Chicken 65 is famous and favourite recipe of many young and old alike. Its less spicy and attractive in looks too. Though its a deep fried recipe , still advicable for weightwatchers also. Its easy to prepare and fast to eat and vanish from the plate.. :)

Ingredients:

Chicken (preferably boneless) – 1 kg

Egg – 1

Corn flour – 3 tbsp

Maida – 2 tbsp

Salt – as required

Red chillie powder – 1 tsp

Pepper powder -1/2 tsp

Azi no moto / China salt / tasting powder – pinch

Orange red food color  pinch

Lemon juice – 1 tbsp

Green chillies – 6

Curry leaves – 4 sprigs

Curd – 250 gms

Oil – for deep frying

Beat the egg in a big vessel. Add salt, red chillie powder, pepper powder, food color, ajinomoto, corn flour, maida , lemon juice and mix well to remove all lumps and make an uniform mixture. Add cleaned chicken pieces and mix well.  Marinate the chicken for an hour. Heat oil in a pan . Drop each chicken piece into oil and fry on medium heat till they turn to golden brown. Drain on a tissue paper to remove excess oil. Fry all the chicken peices.

Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a flat pan or kadai. Add green chillies slit longitudinally and curry leaves. Saute them for a minute and add beaten curd and bring it to boil. Add chicken pieces and  fry till it becomes dry. chicken pieces are glazed with curd.. Sprinkle chat masala or finely chopped coriander and serve hot. This goes as side dish with rice and sambhar and also as it is.. Vegetarians can substitute the chicken with potato , cauliflower, babycorn etc. and here you can omit egg and add little water to the ingredients for marination..
